 Day 01

Departure from Chiclayo to Chachapoyas, where you will get in touch with villages and burial sites which until recently has been largely overlooked by archaeologists. Overnight at El Chillo Hostel. (BoxL, D).

 Day 02

Visit Kuelap, a spectacular Pre-Inca walled city hidden on the top of a precipitous mountain. On the way you will have the opportunity to stopover to observe the burial towers of Macro, an outpost of the Chachapoyas culture built into cliffs overlooking the Utcubamba River. (B, L, D).

 Day 03

One day excursion to visit the colourful funeral buildings of Revash perched on a ledge up high on a cliff. You will return to Chillo for one last night. (B, L, D).

 Day 04

Drive towards Leimebamba. On the way you will be able to discover outstanding friezes and defensive towers still virgin in the jungle. After picnic lunch, continue to Leimebamba for overnight at a local hostel. (B, BoxL, D).

 Day 05

Morning visit to the museum of Leimebamba whit the Pre-Inca mummies recently discovered in the La Laguna de los Condores. Then continue your drive to Celendin, crossing two cordilleras and several different habitats, such as cloud forest, agricultural land, desert-like areas and the Marañon Canyon. Overnight at the Celendin Hotel. (B, L, D).

 Day 06

You begin the journey to Cajamarca. Afternoon excursion to the Ventanillas de Otuzco, a Pre-Inca cementery that features a gallery of secondary burial niches ending with an enjoyable tour of the city. Farewell dinner and overnight at Laguna Seca Hotel. (B, L, D).

 Day 07
Transfer out.
